The 2024 Artwork

The 11th Annual Rendezvous Back to Route 66 car show artwork has been released, featuring the Arrowhead Springs Resort and the first McDonald's restaurant in San Bernardino.

Arrowhead Springs Resort is closely tied to the history of Route 66, the iconic highway that runs through San Bernardino. During the heyday of Route 66, the resort was a popular stop for travelers seeking relaxation and luxury. The resort's proximity to Route 66 made it an accessible and attractive destination for those journeying along the "Mother Road."

The resort’s location at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains provided a scenic and convenient retreat for motorists. Its connection to Route 66 highlights the blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and cultural heritage that defines the region.

The First McDonald’s in San Bernardino is closely linked to Route 66, the historic highway that runs through the city. During the 1940s and 1950s, Route 66 was a major thoroughfare for travelers and locals alike. The McDonald’s restaurant near this bustling route became a popular stop for motorists seeking quick and affordable meals.

The proximity to Route 66 helped McDonald’s gain visibility and attract a steady stream of customers, contributing to its early success. Today, the original site of the first McDonald’s is home to the unofficial McDonald’s Museum, which celebrates the history of the restaurant and its connection to Route 66.
